Paul Monaghan
Paul Monaghan has been a teacher of the social sciences for over 16 years at École Notre Dame High School in Bonnnyville, Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School in Okotoks and at Westmount Charter School in Calgary. Irish by birth and Canadian by choice, Paul was a candidate for Federal Office in 2000, placing second to Preston Manning. (After that “stunning upset,” Paul continued teaching.) The first Canadian to teach the International Baccalaureate Human Rights Course, Paul helped develop the newly approved, locally developed “Perspectives on the Human Condition” course at Westmount Charter School, and has been a pilot teacher for the new Grade 9 program of studies.
