Creating Persuasive and Effective Visuals

Session Four

Organize peer review.

• Distribute a copy of Constructive Feedback to each student. Arrange students in pairs to review each other's draft visual. Explain that, in the first section, students are to identify positive aspects/qualities and provide evidence for how the techniques were effective in achieving these qualities For example, a student might note that one of the strengths is that the visual is catchy. As evidence, the students also might say that the visual holds your attention because of the colourful photographs.
• In the second section, students are to identify aspects to improve and suggest techniques to use for the improvements.
• Ask students to return the feedback forms to their partners. Allow time for students to explain their comments and to propose improvements.

Revise visuals.

• Provide students with the opportunity to use the feedback from the peer review to revise their draft visuals.
